Welcome To My Portfolio Site!

My name is Wenrui Fei, a graduate student in the Communication, Culture, and Technology program at Georgetown University.

So far, I have abundant practical experiences, including 4A advertising company (Publicis Groupe), TV Station (China Media Group), IT & Internet companies (Tencent and ASUS), luxury fashion company (Chanel), and PGC firm (KnowYourself). The six internships made me a capable media and communication person and helped me better understand the integration of communication, culture, and technology.

My passion for communication and technology motivated me to participate in a program about digital media platform development recently. For a long time, the positioning of kids smartwatches is nothing more than “supervision” and “protection”. Since the smartwatch is a media of communication, I redesigned a mobile application that integrates intelligent voice interaction and educational functions to effectively create an interactive communication platform for teachers, parents, and students, facilitating the development of children’s living and learning habits. I carried out 3D modeling and animation rigging for the electronic pets with MAYA. I incorporated elements of the traditional Chinese zodiac, in order to promote and rejuvenate Chinese traditional culture.

I come to Georgetown University with an academic background in Film Production. During my undergraduate years, I created many short films, including documentaries, feature films, advertisements, etc. I really enjoy doing it. And I have always been running my blog. I love to record my life and share my study, work and interests with photos and words. In the following postgraduate stage, I would like to continue my research related to film studies.

I am also interested in transgender issues. A friend of mine is a transgender girl, and she has repeatedly committed self-harm because of others’ discrimination against her. I am heartbroken about the injustice she has suffered. In addition, I found millions of posts on social media concerning the prevalence and severity of transgender discrimination. These experiences have motivated me to pursue further studies in media and communication so that I can play a crucial role in revealing the multifaceted world and defending the rights of the minority. Since then, I have done extensive research and kept hunting for the key to changing the social status quo of discrimination against transgender people. I have been committed to speaking out for them in every way I can. I have written articles in terms of transgender and have been working on a documentary to show people the physical and mental conditions of this group.

Benefiting from Georgetown’s rich academic and professional resources, I will focus my career development on the promotion and marketing work of film and television entertainment industry. And I once put forward some marketing strategies for Universal Pictures and published a paper on it. I also hope that I could bring great values to relevant entertainment industries to develop in the post-COVID-19 era.
